The Producers

A hectic week this week as yesterday I drove over to Manchester to see The Producers at the Palace Theatre. With my foray to London last weekend, rehearsals this week, plus a night at the Tap and Spile’s acoustic night I am feeling slightly jaded now.

Peter Kay is the big attraction for many of the audience. He plays Roger DeBris, the gay director.Music Man at buffet Behind me the person kept telling his wife, “Here he is. He’ll be on soon. Keep watching.” I had the usual stuff you get in theatres nowadays. The collapsing seat, as at Grimsby, this time for the bloke next to me. He sensibly got his wife to check it before he sat down again. It must comfort her to know she is expendable. Just in front someone’s mobile phone went off fifteen minutes before the end. His wife gave him ‘the look’. There was also the hunt at the end of the show for various lost items that had fallen under seats, including people having to get friends to ring their mobile phones to find them. Shows they had not bothered to turn them off.

As you can see from the picture on the right I found another Chinese buffet restaurant. This time though it was a £1 cheaper than the one in London last week. As my dad would have said, “I am not paying fancy London prices.” Just shows that you can live cheaper in the north of England than in London. I may start a blog specialising in Chinese food buffets.

I hung around the stage door at the end to try and give Peter the opportunity of being able to say he had met me and have his photo taken with me. But he was taking his time and I had a long journey home so couldn’t wait too long and decided to scarper.
