Happy Birthday To Me!!
Happy Birthday To Me! Happy Birthday To Me!
This is the first anniversary of the start of the Music Man blog. One year old today. If you want to go back to the first post this was it. Such a long time since I last read it I had forgotten the contents, but it sets out the themes I intended to write about when I created the blog. Generally I have stuck to that broad list of topics too, although the ‘random experience’ part has been a useful catch-all.
The other interesting point is that it was written at the time I was performing Fiddler on the Roof with Hessle Theatre Company. So we are nearly full circle in the pattern of the year with Titanic starting performances on the 27th March. (If you look on my MySpace site I have a countdown clock that tells me there are just over 22 days left before the first performance starts.) What is interesting is that the first performance of ‘Fiddler’ was three weeks earlier than Titanic, I suppose it will depend on the availability of the theatre and our company fits around the professionals.
In the first few weeks of the blog I only got a small number of readers every day, I knew who each of them was! In fact I was extremely pleased about three weeks after I started writing the blog when I had ten people visit me on one day and I also got a visit via the MSN search engine too. As for comments, they were just a distant dream.
Most of this year I have been writing posts about the lead up to the performances of the musical Titanic in late March. What will I write about after that? Well, don’t worry, our next production is Barnum. As I have had experience of being a clown, stilt walking, juggling, face-painting, balloon modelling and using fire in my act (I’ve even worked with wild animals in the shape of Eunice’s cat Timoshenko) I should be ideal for all sorts of parts.
